There is something especially meaningful about returning to a couple’s story at each new chapter, and Abby and Garrett’s maternity session at Norbuck Park in Lake Highlands felt like a quiet celebration of all the years I’ve had the privilege of documenting for them.
I first met them during their engagement session at Lakeside Park & Prather Park, then photographed their wedding at Marie Gabrielle (they’re about to celebrate their first anniversary!), which was published on Style Me Pretty – and now here we are, standing in this in-between place where their family is about to grow in the most beautiful way. Watching their story unfold over time has been such an honor, and this season feels like one of the most tender yet.
We met at Norbuck Park, where soft light filtered through the open fields and everything felt calm and unhurried. Abby carried such a gentle glow, and Garrett never stopped looking at her with that steady, grounded love that has always been so easy to see between them.
They moved through the session in a way that felt natural and unforced – laughing quietly together, pausing to soak it all in, and letting the excitement of what’s ahead settle into the present moment. There is something so special about this stage of waiting, where love feels both familiar and brand new all at once.
It is always an honor to be invited back into a couple’s story like this – to witness not just one day, but a lifetime in the making.
