Highland Park has so many beautiful options for parks, and I've found that Prather Park and Flippen Park are two of the loveliest! They're only a few minutes from one another, so they pair well together (or either park could also be paired with Lakeside Park!). I suggest spending half the time at each park, and wearing a different outfit for each park. Flippen Park has a lovely gazebo and fountain, and Prather Park has a gorgeous stone bridge as well as the pretty facade of the HP Town Offices.

The Dallas Arts District is a gorgeous area with lots of diverse backgrounds. Modern architecture, the iconic Winspear Opera House with its large reflecting pool, the infamous Meyerson Symphony Center, and Wyly Theatre are all conveniently located within one block on Flora Street, giving us tons of options for beautiful images! We'll also walk down to the outside of the Nasher Sculpture Center.

The Arboretum is a gorgeous place for photos. It is cared for meticulously, and always has gorgeous blooms to add color and vibrancy!

The Arboretum is open from 9 am – 5 pm, and their rules are that professional photography must end by 4:30pm. While most of my sessions start two hours before sunset, Arboretum sessions must begin at 9 am or 3 pm. Because of how busy the Arboretum is on weekends, I recommend shooting there on weekdays only, and strongly suggest only choosing this as your location if your session will occur in the winter months when the sun sets earlier.

Prairie Creek Park is one of my favorites because of the fields with trees that are stunningly backlit and so romantic! During certain weeks in the spring, there are beautiful fields of wildflowers.

Because the park is so spread out, I often encourage clients to follow me & drive from location to location in the park That way, we can take advantage of the diversity of the park without walking miles!

White Rock Lake is so conveniently located and offers so many diverse spots to shoot that it’s hard to say no to! The lake is over 1,000 acres, and features nearly 10 miles of trails. So, as you can imagine, we have tons of options for where to shoot.

One of my favorite locations is on the east side of the lake because it’s easily accessible, not too busy, and features lots of variety (trees, pathways, and docks for shots on the lake)! From there, I suggest driving to Winfrey Point for a different perspective of the lake.

The Lumen Room is one of my all-time favorite locations. In fact, it’s where Matt and I chose to do our family photos this year!

They have lots of furniture options for a variety of images, there’s no need to reschedule if the weather is poor, and there is an easy place to change outfits. The studio feel and the beautiful lighting make for a unique and gorgeous engagement session!

Reverchon Park features over 40 acres of gorgeous trees, stone staircases, and picturesque stone bridges along Turtle Creek. Since the park is so large, there are tons of options for variety in your photos. I suggest parking near the intersection of Maple Ave. & Turtle Creek Blvd. If you're bringing your dog, this is a really great spot!

Oh, do I love SMU! The white columns, red brick, stunning landscaping, and abundance of lovely trees on the Boulevard make it an absolutely gorgeous backdrop. It’s definitely one of my absolute favorites. Bring a comfy pair of shoes, because there are so many great spots at SMU & the Meadows Museum that we’ll wander around quite a bit!
