There is something so special about watching a family grow in front of your camera.

I first photographed Katie and Taylor for their engagement session, long before they had little ones running around. Since then, I’ve had the joy of photographing so many of the biggest milestones in their lives – their wedding, the arrival of their first son, countless family sessions, the welcoming home of their daughter, and now their newest little boy, Boone.

Coming back to photograph a family again and again is one of my favorite parts of being a Dallas family photographer. By the time baby number three arrives, there is already so much history behind the photographs. I know the people in front of my camera, I know the little personalities that have grown and changed over the years, and I get to document another chapter in a family story I’ve been lucky enough to witness from the beginning.

For Boone’s newborn session, we kept things simple and relaxed with an in-home newborn session in Dallas. There is something beautiful about photographing a new baby right where your family is most comfortable – surrounded by the rooms, details, and everyday moments that make this season of life yours.

Big brother and big sister were, of course, a huge part of the morning. I love including siblings in newborn sessions in a way that feels natural rather than overly posed. The little hugs, curious looks, tiny touches, and moments of chaos are all part of what makes these photographs meaningful years from now.

And then there was sweet baby Boone – brand new, completely adored, and already so clearly part of the family.

In-home newborn photography is especially meaningful for families who want photographs that feel timeless and personal. Rather than creating a perfectly styled scene that could belong to anyone, we get to document your family as it actually is during those first fleeting weeks with a new baby.

For this family, that meant photographs of all five of them together, quiet moments with Boone, siblings getting to know their new baby brother, and the little details that will someday bring them right back to this season.

After photographing Katie and Taylor through so many milestones, getting to meet Boone felt like such a full-circle moment. These are the sessions that remind me why I love being a Dallas family and newborn photographer so much. It is not just about photographing a beautiful newborn. It is about documenting the people, relationships, and seasons that make up a family’s story – and getting the privilege of coming back year after year to tell more of it.
