There is something so special about photographing a family as it grows, especially when I’ve had the privilege of documenting some of their biggest moments along the way.

I first met Natalie and Trevor while photographing their wedding season, including Natalie’s bridal portraits at the Nasher Sculpture Center and their wedding at Stonebriar Country Club. Getting to return to photograph their first baby, Thomas, was such a sweet full-circle moment.

Thomas’ in-home newborn session was filled with all the little details that make those first days so meaningful. His nursery was the perfect mix of classic and boyhood charm, with rich green tones, plaid details, a beautiful gold crib, and a wall of little ducks that made the sweetest backdrop for his portraits.

We spent the morning documenting Thomas just as he was – tiny, sleepy, and so loved. From nursery details and quiet moments with his parents to the little expressions and details that will change so quickly, these are the photographs that will bring Natalie and Trevor right back to this season for years to come.

I love that newborn sessions don’t just document a new baby. They preserve a family exactly as they are at the very beginning of something completely new.
