There is something especially meaningful about being invited back into a family’s story, not just once, but through each new chapter.

When I first met these two, we were celebrating the beginning of their marriage. From their Dallas Arts District engagement session to Lumen Room bridal portraits and their Union Station wedding day, it has been such a joy to document some of the most significant moments in their lives. This time, I had the privilege of stepping into their Dallas home to meet the sweetest new addition to their family – baby Hudson.

Welcoming a first baby is unlike anything else. The house feels a little quieter, a little slower, and every tiny detail suddenly becomes worth remembering. Hudson spent most of our time together peacefully nestled in his parents’ arms, with sleepy stretches broken up by curious little expressions and the sweetest newborn yawns. It was such a gift to preserve these fleeting moments before they become treasured memories.

One of my favorite things about in-home newborn sessions is how personal they are. Rather than rushing out the door with a brand-new baby, families can simply settle into the comfort of home. The nursery they thoughtfully prepared, the chair where they rock their baby each morning, the couch where they’ll read bedtime stories for years to come – these ordinary spaces become part of the story. Years from now, those familiar rooms will likely look different, making these photographs even more meaningful.

Watching these two step so naturally into parenthood was incredibly special. The same love that was so evident on their wedding day has only deepened as they begin this new season together. Hudson is already so loved, and it was an honor to witness the quiet, joy-filled moments that marked the beginning of their life as a family of three.

Baby Hudson, you are surrounded by parents who adore you beyond words. I cannot wait to watch your family continue to grow in the years ahead, and I am so grateful to have been trusted to preserve these memories from the very beginning.
