Lexi & Garrett’s summer wedding at Dove Ridge Vineyards was elegant, classic, and full of beautiful moments and thoughtful details. It was one of the sweetest weddings I’ve had the chance to photograph, which is why this is my longest blog post ever (I just couldn’t narrow down my favorite images)! Even with the stunning florals, gorgeous gown, and beautiful scenery, I loved this wedding because of Lexi, Garrett, and their families.
Garrett and Lexi met each other in fifth grade, became close friends, and started dating in their senior year of high school. Their relationship endured long distance during college and their engagement, and they were married on the most beautiful July day surrounded by their family and friends!
I knew the groom’s family from years and years ago, when we lived across the street from one another for a few months. Even though we hadn’t lived near to each other for long, they were the kind of family that you just feel connected to even after years apart – because they are incredibly kind, welcoming, good people. When I got an email from Garrett asking me to photograph his proposal, I was so excited to see him, to hear how life was for him, and to meet the woman he had fallen in love with. Garrett is warm, kind, and wonderful, and I knew that the person he’d marry must be special. Lexi did not disappoint!! She is beautiful, smart, creative, and so kind. Through their entire wedding planning process, they made me feel like I was a part of their family in that welcoming way that is so unique to these two.
From Garrett’s proposal at the Dallas Arboretum to their engagement session at Tandy Hills to Lexi’s stunning bridal portraits at TCU to their stunning wedding at Dove Ridge Vineyards, I saw how sweet and special Garrett & Lexi’s relationship is. As beautiful as this wedding was (and it was a stunner!), I know that their marriage will be even more lovely.
As you scroll through the images below, you’ll see some of my favorite moments from their wedding day: the gift Lexi gave her Nana, the details they thoughtfully chose, their first look, their adorable flower girls & ring bearers, Lexi & her sister Brooke’s sweet relationship (by the end of the day, I was calling her Brookie, because they so made me feel like part of the family!!), and Garrett & Lexi’s portraits in the vineyards.
Garrett & Lexi (getting teary-eyed over here!!), thank you for trusting me to capture such sweet moments this past year and at your wedding. You are amazing, and I hope these images remind you how sweet your marriage is. I love you both, Mr. & Mrs. Greer!
