Today, I’m so excited to feature Ashlee Garcia! Ashlee is the owner & lead designer of Flower Shack Blooms, a floral design studio in Dallas, Texas. Ashlee creates lush bouquets, centerpieces, arches, and installations for brides, and she also teaches workshops & floral design classes!
I had the privilege of working with Ashlee’s gorgeous designs at the Styled Shoots Across America workshop at the White Sparrow, and am excited to share a few of the images from that shoot here. I started off doing my own wedding, and the love affair with floral from their began. I ran with this new found passion for flowers and embraced all the creative freedom I could ever ask for. Flowers chose me! I soon left my major corporate insurance job to follow this leap of faith I was on and this adventure has lasted going on 6 years now. Sometimes you can just feel your calling, and I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
. . .
I love the trust my clients have for me. Working with perishables requires a bit of flexibility and creative freedom to pull the very best for my clients. When they allow me the creative freedom to work with the best each season has to offer, that’s when the magic happens.
. . .
I’m loving all these sophisticated color palettes! Shades that compliment each other and monochromatic pallets really give us that dreamy look we all chase.
. . .
It is so worth it to splurge a little on dual purpose pieces. Sometimes those dramatic aisle entrance pieces are exactly what you needed, because we can reuse them again inside the reception! Another great option are candle centerpieces. Our clients have access to our decorative rentals and candle light really creates that romantic setting.
. . .
If your venue has anything structural, we love to highlight those pieces. Arches and backdrops are oh so trendy and we love creating custom installations for our couples. They help create a frame for your pictures, and really bring that wow factor!
. . .
I say always go with whom you feel the most comfortable with. Our clients are trusting us to help make their dream weddings come true, so trusting our judgment is at the top of the list. Always ask your florist what their style is. We are very clear that we create romantic and garden inspired floral. Even our modern styles still have a bit of romance to them!
. . .
We love when potential clients follow us on Instagram. This is a huge tool for us to show what we deliver for actual weddings, not just pretty pictures in our feed. You get to experience real live behind the scenes of wedding set ups like arch floral and see it all come together! Its also great for seeing color selections and hopefully inspires our potential clients.
. . .
Be flexible. Most of the wedding details can be find tuned but working with perishables requires a degree of flexibility. I promise it works in your favor! I am a true lover of all the luxury flowers, so you will absolutely find them in our pieces.
