There is something so special about getting to photograph a family again and again as their story grows.

I first met Amanda and Eric for their engagement session in the Dallas Arts District and at Lakeside Park, where we captured the beginning of their journey toward marriage. A few months later, I photographed their beautiful wedding day at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Perot Museum, and then, years later, I got to meet their first son, James, for his newborn session.

And now, sweet Scottie has joined the family.

This in-home newborn session was such a beautiful way to celebrate their family of four. There is something especially meaningful about photographing a newborn at home – the familiar spaces, the quiet moments, the little details that already belong to this new chapter. Everything felt cozy, relaxed, and completely centered around their growing family.

But my favorite part of this session might have been watching James love on his little brother.

He is such a proud big brother, and you could see just how much he already adores Scottie. The sweetest moments were the ones where James wanted to be close to him, gently checking on his baby brother and soaking up every bit of his new role. There is nothing quite like seeing that sibling bond begin.

Of course, there were plenty of those tiny newborn details to photograph, too – Scottie’s little fingers and toes, his sleepy stretches, his sweet expressions, and all of the tiny pieces of this season that will change far too quickly.

Amanda and Eric, it is such an honor to keep coming back to photograph your family through all of these seasons. From your engagement session, to your wedding day, to James as a brand-new baby, and now to welcoming Scottie, I feel incredibly lucky to have a front-row seat to your growing family.

Scottie, you are so loved already. And James is going to be the sweetest big brother.
