There are few things more meaningful than getting to walk alongside a couple through so many seasons of their story. I first met Virginia and Michael during their engagement session in downtown Dallas, full of excitement and anticipation for the life they were about to begin together. From there, I had the joy of photographing their beautiful wedding at the Adolphus Hotel, a day that celebrated the start of their marriage surrounded by so much love and joy.

And now, years later, I had the incredible honor of stepping into their home to photograph their newest chapter: welcoming their sweet baby girl, Vivienne.

In-home newborn sessions are always so special to me. I love documenting these early days in the place where life is truly unfolding. The nursery you carefully prepared, the quiet corners where you rock your baby in the early mornings, and the soft window light filling the rooms where you are learning the rhythm of life with a newborn all make the images feel deeply personal and timeless.

Vivienne was absolutely precious during her session. She spent most of the morning peacefully curled up in her parents’ arms, occasionally stretching those tiny fingers and toes that make newborns so impossibly sweet. Virginia and Michael already seem so natural in this new season of parenthood, gently rocking their daughter, whispering to her, and soaking in every quiet moment together.

Photographing this stage of their lives felt incredibly full circle for me. I still remember Virginia and Michael walking through downtown Dallas during their engagement session, dreaming about the future that was ahead of them. Then celebrating their wedding day at the Adolphus Hotel as they promised forever to one another. And now, seeing them as parents holding their baby girl and beginning this brand new season of family life.

These are the moments that make me so grateful for what I do. Being invited back into my couples’ lives as their story grows, from engagement to wedding day to welcoming their babies, is one of the greatest honors of my work. These photographs become part of a family’s legacy, preserving the tiny details and quiet emotions of a season that passes far too quickly.

Virginia and Michael, thank you for trusting me to document yet another beautiful milestone in your lives. Sweet Vivienne is already so loved, and it was such a joy to capture these first memories of your family of three.
