As a photographer, few things touch my heart more than returning to a family’s home – especially when I’ve been privileged to capture their story from the very beginning. I first met this sweet family when their oldest daughter was born, and now, getting to document life as they welcome twins into their home feels like the most special full-circle moment. Watching Elle step into her role as a big sister while two tiny babies settle into the rhythm of family life was such a joy.

There’s something magical about photographing newborn sessions in the spaces where families actually live and love. Your home holds the quiet moments no one else sees – the soft light drifting through the windows, the cozy corners where you exhale between feedings, the blankets and rockeres that become part of your daily rhythm. Capturing a newborn session here allows all of that authenticity to shine through.

Twins bring their own kind of sweetness – two tiny babies resting softly, two sets of tiny fingers, two sleepy faces snuggled close. Big sister held them with such care, studied their faces, and offered the gentlest little touches. The way she stepped into her new role felt both new and somehow already so natural. The whole home felt full – of life, of gratitude, of a quiet kind of love that doesn’t need words.

Throughout the session, I focused on the moments that will mean the most years from now: newborns snuggled up side-by-side, parents holding their babies close, and the easy affection that settles in when everyone is simply together. These early days are fleeting – beautiful and overwhelming, tender and tiring all at once – and they pass more quickly than we realize. But photographs freeze the little details: the way a baby’s hand rests on yours, how tiny their features are, the way siblings look at each other in those first weeks.

I’m so grateful to have documented this family’s journey from the beginning. Being invited back into their home as it grows and changes is the greatest honor. There’s nothing sweeter than capturing this season exactly as it is: imperfect, cozy, joyful, and full of love.
