Kevin & Brianna’s Wedding in Oakland, California

To say that this wedding was a special one is such an understatement!! Kevin & Brianna were married in Oakland, California on their ten year anniversary. Kevin is my brother-in-law, and Brianna has become one of my best friends (and now she’s my sister!), so photographing their wedding was such an honor. As if it couldn’t get any sweeter, Matt officiated their wedding, and had me crying behind the camera during their ceremony! The entire day really was so beautiful – scroll down to see what I mean!!

My favorite moment of the day was during their portraits in the redwood forest. It was so quiet and peaceful, and while I was photographing Kevin and Brianna, looking at these two people I love so much, I couldn’t help but think about the decade that they’ve shared together – the things that they’ve endured, celebrated, mourned, and experienced as a couple, and the life they’ve built with one another. I included their vows below because they’re the perfect preamble to these images from their wedding day.

Brianna’s Vows: Kevin, we have been through a lot in this decade together, but I know the future holds even more surprises. I promise to remain your best friend and your partner in life whether life brings us joy, sadness, health, or sickness. Whether we have plenty or if we have little. Kevin’s Vows: Brianna, I have loved you unconditionally for the past 10 years, whether we were 20 yards away on the marching band parking lot or together in our first home in Berkeley. And now, I pledge today that I will love and like you forever, as I take you to be my wife.I promise to cherish and care for you, to be your stability when the going gets tough, and offer you never ending support through all of life’s challenges. I will live by the intention that time is how you spend your love, and I pledge to always seek new adventures with you, prioritize my time with you above all else, and always choose you as my partner. I pledge to stand by your side, hold your hand, and look to you as if there was no one else to hope, laugh, or cry with. I will love you more than anyone loves you, or has loved you, or will love you, from this day forward.
