Well, Jake & Julie’s stunning destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico was one of my all-time favorite weddings!! You might remember these two from their Richardson, Texas engagement session at Prairie Creek Park. Intimate, intentional, and incredibly joyful, capturing the start of their marriage was about as dreamy as it gets. In case you missed it, I shared the start of their wedding weekend (lounging by the pool, rehearsing for the wedding, and sharing a meal with their favorite people) in Part One of their wedding weekend here!
When Jake and Julie were planning their wedding, they wanted to go on vacation with their favorite people – so that’s exactly what they did! The entire weekend was full of quality time with their friends & family, relaxing and enjoying each other’s company, and celebrating their marriage. Stress-free, beautiful, and joyful. Could it get any better?! Chileno Bay Resort was the perfect backdrop – beautiful views of the ocean, picturesque walkways, and dreamy lighting everywhere, I couldn’t get enough!
The bride spent a leisurely morning relaxing and getting ready with her bridesmaids in the beautiful rooms at Chileno Bay before an incredibly sweet first look with her groom. Julie was an absolutely stunning bride in her Maggie Sottero Gown with a brightly colored peony, succulent, and ranunculus bouquet from Florenta Flower Design. Scroll down to the photos and you’ll see what I mean – she’s such a beautiful bride!!
The ceremony took place on a cliff overlooking the ocean, and I can’t imagine a more beautiful setting for Jake & Julie to exchange their vows and start their marriage. Cocktail hour (with the most amazing looking margaritas you’ve ever seen!) followed the ceremony, during which we snuck away from a few bride & groom portraits before sunset. Julie is a photographer herself, and it was so much fun to work with a bride who values portraits so much! We walked down to the beach (wait until you see the beautiful spots we discovered), up to the cliffs, and around the Chileno Bay Resort property before returning to cocktail hour. The reception decor was beautiful: colored tassels hanging from the ceiling, brightly embroidered table runners, and gorgeous florals. Sentimental toasts, dinner, & dancing concluded the celebration of Jake & Julie’s marriage perfectly.
Jake & Julie, thank you for trusting me to capture such incredibly sweet moments. I’m praying that you’d have a long, joy-filled marriage and that you’d be constantly reminded of the beautiful vows you exchanged in such a gorgeous place. Oh, and let me know if you want to renew your vows in Cabo any time soon – I’m THERE!
