The evening before Carmen and John’s wedding was filled with the kind of joy that made their entire wedding weekend so special.

Their rehearsal dinner at Las Colinas Country Club was an intimate evening surrounded by family and close friends, and it was the perfect beginning to their wedding celebration. There was so much excitement in the room as everyone gathered together before the big day, but Carmen and John were completely themselves – laughing, being silly, and enjoying every minute together.

After photographing their engagement session at White Rock Lake and Carmen’s bridal portraits at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas, it was especially meaningful to be there for the rehearsal dinner too. By this point, I had gotten to see so many different pieces of their story, and the evening felt like such a beautiful pause before everything officially began.

Rehearsal dinners have a different kind of energy than a wedding day. There is anticipation, but there is also time to slow down and really enjoy the people who have come together to celebrate. Family and friends shared dinner, stories, laughter, and plenty of excitement for what was waiting just one day away.

And, as was true throughout the entire weekend, Carmen and John brought so much happiness to the evening. They could hardly stop laughing and seemed genuinely thrilled to be surrounded by the people they love most. Their joy wasn’t something that had to be created for the photographs – it was simply who they were.

Las Colinas Country Club was such a beautiful setting for the evening, creating an elegant backdrop while still allowing the focus to remain on the people gathered around the table. From the details of the dinner to the candid moments between family and friends, the evening felt warm, personal, and full of anticipation.

There is something so special about photographing the night before a wedding. It is the last evening before everything changes – before the dress is put on, before the vows are exchanged, before the dance floor fills and the wedding day becomes a memory.

For Carmen and John, it was an evening full of laughter and the people who have loved them along the way. And the next morning at The Ritz Carlton Las Colinas & Cistercian Abbey, it was finally time to get married.
